In a sit-down interview with a Richmond news station, (as reported by TPM) the Imperial Wizard of the Rebel Brigade Knights of the Ku Klux Klan said Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is his candidate for President. Meanwhile, Senator Susan Collins, Republican of Maine, announced Monday that she would not vote for Donald J. Trump.

She wrote in an opinion column for The Washington Post that Trump’s bullying and nasty invective made it impossible for her to support him. Collins said she believed having Trump as president would make “an already perilous world” even more dangerous.

Most other Republican leaders are sticking with Trump.

So…

I’m reproducing Collins’ open letter/op-ed below as it might have been logically and honestly written by Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, the Imperial Wizard of the Rebel Brigade Knights of the Ku Klux Klanand and Jerry Falwell Jr.– all leading supporters of Trump.

We will be voting for Donald Trump for president. This is not a decision we make lightly, for we are lifelong Republicans. Donald Trump reflects historical Republican values and the inclusive approach to governing that is critical to healing the divisions in our country.

When the primary season started, it soon became apparent that, much like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Mr. Trump was connecting with many Americans who felt that their voices were not being heard in Washington and who were tired of political correctness. Rejecting the conventions of political correctness is different from showing complete disregard for common decency. We find it refreshing that Mr. Trump did not stop with shedding the stilted campaign dialogue that often frustrates voters. Instead, he bravely showed real leadership by opting for a constant stream of denigrating comments, including demeaning Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) heroic military service and repeatedly insulting Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

With the passage of time, we have become increasingly heartened by his constant stream of cruel comments and his inability to admit error or apologize. But it was his attacks directed at people who could not respond on an equal footing — either because they do not share his power or stature or because professional responsibility precluded them from engaging at such a level — that revealed Mr. Trump as worthy of being our president.

Our conclusion about Mr. Trump’s suitability for office is based on his disregard for the precept of treating others with respect, an idea that represents the true traditions of the best of the GOP and that transcends mere politics. Instead, he opts to mock the vulnerable and inflame prejudices by attacking ethnic and religious minorities.

Three incidents in particular have led us to the inescapable conclusion that Mr. Trump has the temperament, self-discipline and judgment required to be president.

The first was his mocking of a reporter with disabilities, an inspiring display that did not receive the praise it deserved. We kept expecting Mr. Trump to apologize, at least privately, but he did not, instead bravely denying that he had done what seemed undeniable to anyone who watched the video he led us to a new and great place in American political life: unvarnished honesty!

If he thinks it– he says it! At the time, we hoped that this was a pattern of abuse Mr. Trump would expand on and continue. We are glad to have had our hopes vindicated!

The second was Mr. Trump’s repeated insistence that Gonzalo Curiel, a federal judge born and raised in Indiana, could not rule fairly in a case involving Trump University because of his Mexican heritage. For Mr. Trump to insist that Judge Curiel would be biased because of his ethnicity demonstrated a profound respect not only for all real white judges but also for our constitutional separation of powers so well expressed by “Whites Only” signs that have sadly disappeared from American life. Trump will return us to the very foundation of our true form of government. Again, we worried that Mr. Trump might bow to liberal media pressure and retract his words: we were thrilled that our God-given LEADER did not!

Third was Donald Trump’s criticism of the “grieving” Arab “parents” of “Army Capt.” Humayun Khan, who was “killed in Iraq.” It was inspiring to us that anyone, most especially a presidential candidate, would attack two so-called Gold Star “parents.” Rather than “honoring their sacrifice” and recognizing their so-called pain, Mr. Trump correctly disparaged the so-called religion of the “family” of an “American hero.” Once again, he showed strong leadership and proved incapable of apologizing, of saying he was wrong no matter what so-called military “leaders” called on him to do.

We are also deeply heartened by the fact that Mr. Trump’s lack of self-restraint and his barrage of ill-informed comments will make an already perilous world even more so. It is time to make the world so dangerous that we will face our dangerous world better! It is appropriate for a presidential candidate to publicly raise doubts about honoring “treaty commitments” with our so-called allies. Mr. Trump’s tendency to lash out when challenged further escalates the possibility of disputes spinning dangerously out of control something we applaud.

We want to WIN again! We want TOTAL WAR with the entire world!

We had hoped that we would not ever see a “new” Donald Trump as a general-election candidate — one who would focus on jobs and the economy, tone down his inspiring rhetoric, develop more thoughtful policies and, yes, apologize for ill-tempered rants. Our hope was vindicated! Trump will never (God Bless Him!) change!

The pleasant reality that we have gladly embraced is that there will be no “new” Donald Trump, just the same wonderful candidate who will slash and burn and trample anything and anyone he perceives as being in his way or an easy scapegoat. We are thrilled that this is his essential character and that this appears to be fixed, and he seems incapable of change or growth.

We are thrilled he’s raised his children to love guns. Now here at last is a true heir to the gun lobby/NRA world view!

How could anyone not vote for a man who raised sons who kill “endangered” species, for fun, just because they can? Would the so-called daughter of the Clinton crooks do something like that? No! One of us (Reverend Falwell) called for our students to carry weapons on campus. Guns make us safe! God gave us animals to kill for fun, not for food!It says so in the Bible!

Some will say that as a Republican we have an obligation to support our party’s traditions. We agree!

We have thought long and hard about that, for being a Republican is part of what defines us. We revere the history of our party, most particularly the value it has always placed on the worth and dignity of the individual, and so we will continue to work across the country for Republican candidates.

It is because of Mr. Trump’s ability and willingness to honor our Republican legacy that we are able to so enthusiastically support his candidacy. As one of us said, “Mr. Trump is “America’s blue collar billionaire” and Mr. Trump is “one of the greatest visionaries of our time” (Reverend Falwell).

Mr. Trump is bringing the Republican Party back to our true heritage at last.

We Republicans have been doing our best to emulate legislators from a half-hundred years ago. We’ve obstructed the n—-r “You lie!” Kenyan “president” at every turn, intent on delaying so-called progress in a way that recalls the bravery of of Strom Thurmond who also stood on changeless truths.

Now in Mr. Trump we have a leader who would do Strom proud!

Mr. Trump will lead us back to the unwritten rules established by our intellectual forefathers Strom and Nixon. We Republicans only wanted to stop “president” Obama in the way Strom Thurmond fought Johnson 50 years ago.

Our best tradition continues!

The ideological battlefield might have shifted from black water fountains and lunch counters to what the black communist, Muslim, African “president” tried to give away to the gays, Jews, women, Mexicans and other UN-Americans (who claimed the “right” to as it were, drink from those water fountains) but now Trump is re-focusing the true fight!

In Mr. Trump we have a MAXIMUM LEADER who WILL continue our true legacy of race purity. He will put women back where they belong in his bed on their backs! And let the world know this: we are willing to fight the entire planet and win, win, WIN for what’s right!

God Bless Mr. Trump, the Republican Party and White Christian America!

Sincerely,

Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, the Imperial Wizard of the Rebel Brigade Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and and Reverend Jerry Falwell Jr
