D.L. Moody was an evangelist but not “The Great Evangelist” as stated in Mr. Viola’s article. D.L. Moody was the leading catalyst in changing the Christ mandated response to the Gospel from water baptism to the sinner’s prayer which is no where in NT scriptures. Instead of “The Great Evangelist”, he should be remembered as “The Great Deceiver”! In the book of Acts chapters 15 and 22 the Apostle Paul had for 3 days been praying and fasting and after all that praying and fasting the Apostle Paul still had his sins washed away at his baptism. No sinner’s prayer then, and no sinner’s prayer now. God’s way is baptism, D.L. Moody’s way is a sinner’s prayer. You choose!
