Rep. Chris Smith: ‘Planned Parenthood Dismembers or Chemically Poisons a Baby to Death Every 2 Minutes’

This week was a historic week for the pro-life movement.  The momentum is swinging towards protecting life.

For the first time in history, a bill to defund Planned Parenthood was passed by both Houses of Congress and was sent to the President’s desk.  And as expected, President Obama vetoed the bill today.

So what is at stake?  Why is defunding Planned Parenthood so critical?  One member of Congress got it right when he addressed the House this week.  Rep. Chris Smith, who chairs the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Global Human Rights, took to the House floor on Wednesday to explain why he was supporting the bill, which stripped Planned Parenthood of our taxpayer funding:

Subsidized by over $500 million taxpayer dollars each year, Planned Parenthood dismembers or chemically poisons a baby to death every 2 minutes, killing over 7 million innocent children since 1973.

Planned Parenthood is Child Abuse, Incorporated. Now undercover videos have exposed in numbing candor several high-level Planned Parenthood leaders gleefully talking about procuring children’s internal organs for a price, all while altering gruesome dismemberment procedures to preserve intact livers, hearts, and lungs from freshly killed babies.

Far too many politicians, Mr. Speaker, including our Nobel Peace Prizewinning president and much of the media, continue to ignore, trivialize, and even defend these gross human rights abuses.

So know this: We will not be deterred in exposing this Planned Parenthood scandal no matter how aggressive and misleading the cover-up.

End taxpayer funding to those who commit these cruel and inhumane acts in this subsidy for Planned Parenthood.

By its own admission in its latest annual report, Planned Parenthood revealed it performed 323,999 in its last fiscal year alone! Breaking this down by minutes in a year, that means that they averaged one abortion every 1.62 minutes!  That is one baby who is murdered every 2 minutes.  How tragic!

Some people out there think we should look the other way and shouldn’t talk about such things. They said the same thing about slavery 150 years ago, but brave men and women  realizing every human being is made in the image of God stood up for what was right.

No matter what Hollywood tells us about abortion or what Planned Parenthood’s cronies on Capitol Hill say about their work, facts are stubborn things.
