This is why I love country music.
Miranda Lambert was performing her song “The House that Built Me” in Hartford, Connecticut when she became so moved to tears, she was too choked up to continue singing. It’s already an emotional song (if you haven’t heard it please click here) but a sign she saw a man holding in the crowd made it impossible to go on.
Miranda grabbed the sign and showed it to her audience:
3 combat tours…your voice was the last thing I heard every night. Thank you.
That simple message from a soldier was all it took to bring her and everyone in the arena to tears. She asked her fans to continue singing the next verse while she stepped away to compose herself.
