Hillary’s inner circle knew Weiner was messaging underage girl on Twitter in 2011, did nothing

Wikileaks continues to give us insight into the inner workings of Hillary Clinton’s political machine, and Monday’s release had a bombshell: in 2011, her high level staff discovered Anthony Weiner was messaging an underage girl on Twitter.

Since the high level staffers knew their boss Hillary Clinton cares about women, they alerted her of the problem and called the police.

No?  Well, they called Child Protective Services and filed a report in order to protect the girl.

No?  Well, at least her staff called Anthony Weiner into her office along with his wife (Hillary’s close confidant) to discuss his problem and require counseling.

Oh sorry…  I was temporarily blinded by campaign rhetoric.  None of those things happened.  Guess what did?

Nothing.  The Daily Mail reports:

John Podesta – now chair of Clinton’s presidential campaign – and Neera Tanden, another adviser, were forwarded news of an investigation into Weiner’s online contact with a 17-year-old Delaware high school student by Jennifer Palmieri, the current campaign communications director, in June 2011.

At the time he was married to Huma Abedin, another member of Clinton’s inner circle, who is now at the center of fresh FBI investigation into the handling of classified material while Clinton was in office.

The email detailed lurid claims of private messages to an underage girl being investigated by police – and was met with the response ‘oof’ by Podesta.

The crazy campaign season of 2016 cannot be seen solely through the lens of sex, sexual assault, or gender issues, but it’s a shame that both parties were shown to have both a callous disregard for the victims of sexual predators and also an eagerness to use the others’ victims as political pawns.

Of course, you know the rest of the story.  Weiner was caught allegedly exchanging sexual text messages with a 15-year-old — including a sexual photo of him while his son was on the bed beside him.

If Hillary Clinton is brought down, it could be because her staff refused to take the necessary steps to drive Congressman Weiner from the public sphere when they realized his inappropriate behavior toward a child five years ago.  But that’s certainly cold comfort for the victims that Weiner may have accumulated between then and now.
