- Help heal our communities. After the election, many Americans will be disappointed, disillusioned, or angry. We should approach this as an opportunity, not to join the chorus, but to be a disarming and productive presence. Our culture desperately needs the resources the Christian community can bring to bear:
- It needs our models of community and hospitality in our increasingly isolated age.
- It needs our models of forgiveness and reconciliation in our increasingly polarized age.
- It needs our models of mercy and justice in our increasingly rudderless age.
- Most of all, our culture needs the reality of grace for which it has no equivalent.
We must look toward and work for the welfare of our city. A tapestry of solutions is needed, but we need to consider, “How can we help heal our communities?” Answering this question will take time, thoughtfulness, and care, but it is the right question.
