Thump Trump!

Thump Trump! August 16, 2015

I mean that Republicans need to politically thump Donald Trump. Get him off the stage. However, then he’ll run as an independent and probably pull the Ross Perot trick again. Even though the Republicans have got some mojo and lots of pretty good candidates for president, I think, they are getting thumped by Trump.

USA TODAY reports today that Donald Trump flew into Des Moines, Iowa, yesterday, to begin his campaign in the primaries for the Republican nomination for the presidential election next year. Des Moines–the circus came to your town! As soon as the Donald got off his private airplane, he continued verbally castigating some of his Republican opponents, especially former Governor of Florida and member of the presidential Bush family, Jeb Bush. And he kept up his constant repertoire of bragging about his wealth, thereby denying the need to raise money for his campaign and thus claiming to be untouchable by lobbyists if he is elected president.

Mr. Trump said to the media, “Jeb Bush is a puppet to his donors. There’s no question about it. He’s got lobbyists. I know them. . . . He’ll do whatever they want.” Then Trump soon boasted about his own powers of influence, saying, “I’ll get Congress. I’ve been getting politicians to pass whatever I wanted all my life.” Ah, Donald, if that isn’t lobbying, I don’t know what is.

Trump the blowhard continued, “Nobody has more experience dealing with politicians than I. . . . Whether it’s big New York City zoning, which by the way are probably tougher than things I’ll be dealing with with foreign countries.” Baloney!

Trump was asked by the media if he was willing to spend a billion dollars of his own money on his political campaign which would match Barak Obama and the Democratic party in the 2008 presidential election. He said if that’s what it takes, then he will. Lets see about that. Donald Trump claims his net worth is $10 billion. But the respectable Bloomberg News recently did a study on it and concluded that Donald Trump’s net worth is “$2.9 billion or more.” If that’s true, and Donald Trump spends a billion dollars on this campaign, he may be thumping his accountant after his political ship sinks like the Titanic.
