About Jeffrey Overstreet

Jeffrey Overstreet has two passions: writing fiction, and celebrating art — music, cinema, photography, literature — through writing and teaching. He is the author of a “memoir of dangerous moviegoing” — Through a Screen Darkly. And his four-novel fantasy series, The Auralia Thread, which begins with Auralia's Colors, was published by Random House. He speaks at universities and conferences around the world about understanding art through eyes of faith. He is earning his MFA in Creative Writing at Seattle Pacific University, where he has worked for 11 years as an editor, writer, and communications project manager. His work has been recognized in The New Yorker, TIME, The Seattle Times, IMAGE, Ravi Zacharias International — and Christianity Today, where he served as a film journalist for more than a decade. He recently began a weekly column called "Listening Closer" for Christ and Pop Culture.

    Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the lovely post. I agree, we’re definitely in the family category after that wondrous night downtown Seattle. But I think we all have quite a bit of soul in common anyway.

Thanks for including me in all your fun and celebration. It was a delight to me and I am so excited about Auralia’s Colors. You inspire me as a writer!

I’ll definitely hope to come up Seattle way when the loneliness hits at those moments and see you all. And you simply must come down to CO sometime and stay for a bit. Hope your autumn is off to a beautiful start.

aargh, painful I would have enjoyed the second night as well. Loved Thursday but if I could wish for more, they would have played more Drunkard Prayer songs. Glad you were there to be able to enjoy it.

    Hi, Jeff (and Anne),
Sounds like the concert was amazing, so we heard. Hopefully Joel and Sarah will see you tonight and celebrate with you the grand arrival of your wonderful new book. Our many congratulations and well wishes for a best seller. Hopefully, the gift you receive tonight from Clay and me will last through thousands and thousands of “signings” we hope you are fortunate to give. Since we couldn’t join you to celebrate, we wanted you to know we are there is spirit! What a beautiful and alluring cover. The Lord’s grace and blessing to you as you continue to populate our bookshelves with more great stories!
Love and blessings to you both!
    Clay and Sally Clarkson
