Archives Up

My archives are now up, but the formatting is off in some of the posts, so beware. I’ll be working on fixing that and better organizing the categories.

Today’s going to be busy, so I won’t be posting again until tonight. So I thought I’d take a poll. I have three post ideas in my head. Which should I write tonight?

Dispensationalist premillenialism

The Duggars and Rick Santorum

Should women have the vote?

About Libby Anne

Libby Anne grew up in a large evangelical homeschool family highly involved in the Christian Right. College turned her world upside down, and she is today an atheist, a feminist, and a progressive. She blogs about leaving religion, her experience with the Christian Patriarchy and Quiverfull movements, the detrimental effects of the "purity culture," the contradictions of conservative politics, and the importance of feminism.

I don’t know what the first choice means, so I’d be interested in finding out. I definitely would read an article on the Duggars and Rick Santorum. I don’t think I even want to know where the third choice is coming from.

Oooo, dispensational premilleniumism, please!! I grew up in that worldview, and it’s kinda hard to explain now to my own children what the hell Grandma is going on about… My 11 year old is starting to notice more and more that my family has ideas that she can’t wrap her head around, these things are so hard to explain to people who weren’t raised in it!!

  • reeddlh

The Duggars make me sick, but I’d be interested in hearing your take on them.

  • victorbrown

I’m interested in what you have to say about the Duggars and Rick Santorum.

    • sisu

      me too!

      • http://www.mattiechatham.wordpress.com Mattie Chatham

        I third this!

Dispensational premilleniumism is my vote. If not tonight, then sometime soon because I know your view on this would be insightful and interesting.

  • Jenny Draper

    Should women have the vote?

  • JeseC

Dispensational premillenialism! I have yet to figure out why this is so important to them.

  • Tsu Dho Nimh

    Dispensational premillenialism for the WIN!!

Like some of the others, I have no clue what it is. But it seems to be doing its best to mess up a lot of people.

  • Anders

    Dispensational premillenialism!

    Sounds like a blast!

    *sings*
    And so in the sky
    Shines the electric eye
    Supernatural king
    Takes Earth under his wing
    Heaven’s golden chorus sings
    Hell’s angels flap their wings
    Evil souls fall to Hell
    Ever trapped in burning cells!

I vote for the Duggars and Santorum!

  • Cara

I’ll take the Duggars and Santorum, though I’m always curious what provoked you to think about women and voting.

I vote for all three when you can get the time, but I’m interested in your take on Dispensationalism. I was shocked when I realized that the rapture wasn’t in the Bible (when I was in college no less) and was a modern take on the end of the world. Revalations is such a tricky book that you can make anything seem like it’s been predicted/suggested.

I do feel bad the Duggars lost their baby.

Definitely the first one, because I, like most others commenting, haven’t a clue what that means you would actually be writing about. But Duggars next!

  • Fox

I would love to read about all three (I’ve never even heard of the first one, and the comments here make me apprehensive but curious), but I think “Should women have the vote?” sounds like the most “fun” topic. ;)

  • maliceb4thought

I vote for all three. Yes, I’m greedy!

  • camdendayton

    Anything but #3! :)

  • http://carpescriptura.wordpress.com/ MrPopularSentiment

I have an unhealthy obsession with the Duggars, so I’ll go with that one!

Definitely your take on Dispensationalist premillenialism.

I grew up constantly terrified, because the church taught this. And I liked girls. And that meant I couldn’t be saved.

  • Sneffy

I don’t know what Dispensationalist premillenialism is, so I would like to!

  • Contrarian

BTW, for all who don’t know: “Dispensational premillennialism” = “Rapture theology.”

  • Marianne

My vote goes to Dispensational premillennialism. Although, I’m greedy too, and would like to hear your thoughts on all of them!

  • Meggie

    Santorum & Duggars, please!

Santorum’s politics terrify me and I live half a world away. I would love to hear your take on him and the opinion of those who comment.

Duggar family just give me a giggle. My hubby & I are still debating whether they are real or whether it is a scripted comedy show. (Sorry, that is the bitch in me coming out again.)
