Today, President Donald Trump was in Warsaw when another awkward handshake-related moment happened. The President seemed to be left hanging when he extended his hand to Agata Kornhauser-Duda, the First Lady of Poland, as she passed right by to greet Melania. The press, notably CNN’s Chris Cillizza, reacted with measured discretion:
OHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGODOHMYGOD https://t.co/Ngdtuuu21q

Then, the entire video emerged. The longer version shows Kornhauser-Duda greeting the First Lady, then immediately greeting the President. This is the type of not-even-really-awkward situations that happen every day in social situations. People who leave their house know this.
Folks, Poland’s first lady did not diss Trump’s handshake attempt. She was looking at Melania, shook her hand, then shook Trump’s. Stop. pic.twitter.com/ta8DNsv0Th

Wow. I guess it’s understandable that a media personality at CNN would fall for a two second video. After all, it’s not like…. his network had a film crew on location or anything. In an era where “fake news” has dominated the headlines, this is not the kind of press CNN needs… and Twitter made sure to let Cillizza know.
Even if she DID mean to snub POTUS, it doesn’t warrant a teenybopper’s reaction from a so-called ‘journalist’. But CNN. #FakeNews

To his credit, he took his lumps well:
