I blogged this video about a couple who moved to the poorest nation on earth and are supporting 7,000 orphans entirely through the Providence of God – and see some extreme miracles occur.

They aren’t Catholic, of course – classic Independents. But there is a good deal about Heidi Baker than reminds me of Mother Teresa–and Catherine of Siena.

The two videos together are 20 minutes long but worth watching in its entirely. Just FYI – cause I find it both inspiring and challenging and thought-provoking.

I’m reminded of this:

John said to him, “Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, * and we forbade him, because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him; for no one who does a mighty work in my name will be able soon after to speak evil of me. 40 For he that is not against us is for us. 41* For truly, I say to you, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink because you bear the name of Christ, will by no means lose his reward. (Mark 9:38-41)

The gospel’s standing rebuke to all of us who are tempted to tribalism and the reduction of the body of Christ merely to the visible members of Team Catholic.
