Prayer Request

Prayer Request October 8, 2011

A reader writes:

I am asking (yet again) for the prayers of you and your ever gracious readers. Today, my husband and I looked at a house. We are blessed enough that we will be able to buy it, outright, provided we are able to work out a suitable offer with the bank and close by the end of the year. But this isn’t just a house. It’s a duplex that will allow us to move my parents out of a dismal and unhealthy rental situation that is taking a toll on their physical and mental well-being. It is by no means extravagant nor mansion-like, but it more than meets our needs and will provide a better living situation for all involved plus long-term financial stability and security for our young family.

Please pray that things work out; the real estate agent said no one else is “hot” for the house at the moment (“hot” being a realtor term for really really interested). If we can get things together, we might be able to make an offer by the end of next week. Pray also that it is accepted by the bank, and that no snafus arise as we go through this process (for the first time as home buyers, I might add).

Father, hear our prayer that they get the house and are able to help their parents according to your command to honor our father and mother. Mother Mary, pray for them. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
