It is very odd but here in the land of upteem high profile Christian organizations (Colorado Springs – Denver), not one protest is planned for Friday so far as I know right now.

The nearest one is in a town I didn’t even know existed. Akron, Colorado. Population 1,700. Location: out on the plains in the upper northeast corner of the state.

Rah for Akron but I must say that I’m surprised. With an editorial deadline bearing down on me tomorrow, I can’t do anything but where is the mighty Focus on the Family or the Archdiocese of Denver, etc?

The current Administrator of the Archdiocese of Denver (which is between Archbishops) is calling for a fast on March 30. So I guess there is a diversity of responses out there. http://www.archden.org/index.cfm/ID/7830.

Nothing in Colorado Springs so far. It would be really interesting to know of other initiatives around the country in addition to Friday’s protest. What is happening in your area?

If you are in the south Puget Sound, please join us in Tacoma at Tollefson Plaza (17th and Pacific, across from the art museum). Free parking at the Tacoma Dome and a commuter tram will bring you straight to the plaza. There will be great speakers from the spectrum of political and religious backgrounds. Tacomastandsfree(dot)com for more information. See you there!
