Prayer Request

Prayer Request April 3, 2012

A reader writes:

A homeschooling friend of ours has been a widow for eight years now. She has 4 lovely daughters, aged 9 through 17, one with psychological needs which are difficult to fully assess and address, especially on the state health care insurance. This year she has taken on some tutoring to make ends meet, but costs are rising and she thinks that she needs to move further out from the suburbs in order to make ends meet. It does not make sense for her to work outside the home until her daughters are older. Our homeschooling community is working on a foundation for her to give her a monthly amount for the next several years, but she also needs a new (second-hand) van and some house repairs done (we have the free labors, it is just the costs of some of the supplies).

I have two requests: first, prayer for her (and other homeschooling widows ). Imagine the 24/7 schedule she (and others) has had for many years, raising her children in the Faith alone—at no cost to either our Archdiocesan or our state coffers, I might add! Please pray for her perseverance.
Secondly, during this Holy Week, if anyone feels led to help her out financially, we would be very grateful. Please email me here. Thanks, and God bless you.

Father, please help your daughter as she seeks to educate her children. Grant her bounteous provision and the grace of perseverance, and grant those around her the determination to help her in whatever ways she needs so that she can accomplish your will. Mother Mary and St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for her. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
