Hi Mark, hope that you are well today. The big issue as far as myself is concerned is that if the Catholic Truth Meditations fail to be read out as the Rosary is said the loss to the prayer is immense. It seems one must open one’s heart to a very great degree to include the meditations in the Rosary. The loss in terms of people who are new to our fine Church of observing the Rosary being said without meditations is so vast it is pretty well impossable to describe of define. Often I seen youngsters leaving the church at speed as they have witnessed the Rosary being said in a very brisk manner with the meditations not being included, chris.

Where I would say even a Rosary without the meditations, will cause you to memorize some portion of the Gospels.

Have you been working too hard, Mark, that you conflated the two events? I’m also surprised that an editor didn’t catch this.

Meditations are supposed to be going on mentally while we say the Rosary. The Rosary seems to have done just fine for 500 years without the oral reading of meditations.

I do wish we would restore Jan 1 to the Feast of the Circumcision of Our Lord. A feast that by its nature reminds of concrete reality of the Incarnation: Jesus was/is a body!
