Hmmmm….

Package for Indiana Jones!

Hey Mark this has nothing to do with this post, but there is an advertisement above your picture that says “Dr Marie Stopes: we are pro your choice”. Does your host Patheos have to allow ads from abortion clinics…on your blog site?! I’m shocked.

    • Mark Shea

I have alerted the web elves and asked them to get that out of the ad feed. Thanks for the heads up.

“The ads in this column are not endorsed by the author. If you don’t like them, ignore them like you ignore commercials.”

    • EBS

Yes I’ve read that a zillion times and do ignore the ads. But I thought it insulting to Mark to have an ad for an Abortion Clinic, of all things. I don’t think for one minute that he endorses them.

The mystery has been solved. Someone in Italy purchased the replica material from a man in Guam. The outside package was lost in transit, so the inside package (complete with fake postage) got delivered instead.

      How . . . prosaic.

Well, yeah, but it’s still way cool! And the U of C gets to keep it – they’re putting it in the Oriental Institute there and the creator will make another one for the person he was shipping it to. Merry Christmas to the University!

Props to my Postal peeps! I have seen some amusing errors and misdirections in my 11 years on the job. It’s nice to see this one work out.
