A Badge of Honor

That’s what I call the hostility of racist tools like these guys.

I’ve just read the piece. My hearitest congratulations to you!

  • Harry Piper

“Pathological Altruism” is no laughing matter Mark – you’d better get that seen to.

  • ivan_the_mad

Those are some sad little minds on display. But a defense of neo-paganism lets Dreher off the hook in their minds? Talk about a non sequitur.

That this “only demonstrates the utter stupidity of conservatives”, well, I’ll wear that myself as a badge of honor. I guess it’s just my utter naiveté that makes me unconcerned regarding complexions.

  • Viking

Pathological alturism combined with ethnomasochism is indeed the end result of Christianity, especially masochism. That Middle Eastern import from the desert was the worst thing that ever happened to the West and has emasculated us for thousands of years now.

    • ivan_the_mad

Thanks for that gratuitous and stupidly false assertion, Adolph.

      • Viking

I am not a Nazi, that is, I am not a white supremacist. I do not wish to rule over any other races. I am a racial separatist. There is a difference.

You, and Catholics, are universalists, and therefore pro-racial mixing. If you want to know where that road takes us, take a look at Latin America (a racially mixed people created under the aegis of Catholicism, look where that got them).

        • Stu

Define “race” in terms of human beings.

        • Jamie R

Vikings are pro racial mixing. What do you think they were doing in France, England, Russia, North America, and Sicily? You should pick a less hypocritical name if you’re opposed to racial mixing.

I mean, technically he’s not wrong. Christianity IS inimical to blood and soil nationalism. We seek another country, an heavenly. So if you think blood and soil nationalism is really important, and you judge religions based on how well they serve that end, Christianity is going to fare poorly. Of course, if Christianity is true, then your other values should be tested against it, and not the other way around.

        • ivan_the_mad

Yes, yes, we know, you have so little sense of self and individuality that you use complexion as a discriminant.

        • Mark Shea

You want to be separate? Fine. Goodbye.

    • Kate

      Shall we rephrase?

“That Middle Eastern import from the desert was the best thing that ever happened to the West and has freed us from false and meaningless distinctions between human beings us for thousands of years now.”

      Much better! :-)

Honestly, you really can’t get a better approbation for Christianity than the complaint that it causes people to value others for their common humanity!

Galatians 3:28 – There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

  • Alister

I honestly thought I was reading satire.

You can’t make this stuff up.

  • Stu

There is so much melanin obsession from multiple directions that I think the Washington Post runs the entire Internet.

  • Noah D

Gah, it’s nationalism by crayon box.

  • Tom

Truth be told, he’s not a very big fan of…”the black people”.

    • Tom

Before I get banned, I should probably clarify that it’s a reference to this gem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjvFMjPD5zg

And yes, I am a wrestling fan. Yes, it’s men in their underwear beating each other up. No, it hasn’t been relevant in over ten years. And no, the guy in the video isn’t being serious either.

      • ivan_the_mad

Angle is such a roody-poo. Also, Foley 4TW.

  • Will

Neo-paganism is Good, but “witch doctor” is a sneer. That really makes sense.
All I can say is… “Ooo, eee. ooh ah ah!”

I kept waiting for the punchline as I read this article, convinced it was some sort of satire (especially given the title of the blog). But it’s for real, huh?

  • Geoff

    Best quote from the comments:

“I like Dreher but his whining becomes tiresome. Mark Shea, on the other hand, is an insufferable idiot. I doubt he has a reader with an IQ higher than room temp.”

  • Chris M

While reading the article I realized that my body has finally found its limit for accepting cognitive dissonance and I began bleeding from the nose.

  • TheRealAaron

I was not surprised to see that the author of the linked article is also associated with alpha male blogs. It’s good to know that the “I’m not racist but…” segment of the Internet is on speaking terms with the “I’m not sexist but…” demographic.
