Friends Don’t Let Friends Do Calvinist Eisegesis August 4, 2014

Recently, Chuck Baldwin wrote on FB:

The phony-conservative, Glenn Beck, is sending food and soccer balls to illegals swarming across our southern border at the orchestration of the Obama administration. And the phony conservative, Joe Scarborough, says Beck is acting like Jesus Christ for doing so.

it is amazing how spiritual these talking heads can get when trying to justify their betrayal of constitutional government and honest citizenship. Now we learn that TSA is allowing illegals to board U.S. commercial airplanes WITHOUT an ID. And nary a word of protest from the holy rollers Beck and Scarborough.

So, the next time someone decides to break into our homes, I suppose Beck and Scarborough think we should feed them breakfast and write them a check for their trouble.

And since Scarborough wants to bring Jesus into it, let’s see what He had to say on the matter:

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.” (John 10:1)

That sounds very much to me like Jesus was saying if people want to become citizens of our country, they should come to the front door and ask permission to enter. To do otherwise, is an act of criminality.

Calvinism is famous for preferring diagrams to human faces. Yet when the subject is abortion, even Calvinists can figure out that the law was made for man and not man for the law and that the mere fact something is enshrined in human law does not make it moral or the most important thing in the world. But move an inch away from abortion to other forms of contempt for innocent human life protected by law and all of a sudden paperwork, rules and regulations become the most important thing in the universe and any misreading of Scripture, no matter how perverse, is justified to make sure that little Catholic brown kids who talk funny are sent back to face rape, death and terror rather than Calvinists face the horror of unfiled paperwork.

Here’s another biblical passage–and one that is actually applicable and not wrenched violently out of context.
