What Does “Missional” Mean? Answer: A Subtle but Significant Shift

It’s been a while since I attempted to answer the question, “What does it mean to be ‘missional’?” When I launched this blog in May 2012, that was the first question I tried to answer.

I had the opportunity to preach on this subject at The Table in East Dallas, Texas, in October 2012, and shortly after I posted the full-length video of that talk (and really the entire worship service).

Recognizing that people do not typically sit and watch 37-minute long YouTube videos, I’ve decided to post a few short clips from that talk, which capture some important aspects of my thinking on missional shift — starting with this clip in which I answer the question (again), “What does it mean to be ‘missional’?”
