life and fear

The fear of being loved. The fear of rejection.

The fear of success. The fear of failure.

The fear of commitment. The fear of loneliness.

The fear of fame. The fear of obscurity.

The fear of wealth. The fear of poverty.

The fear of praise. The fear of ridicule.

The fear of comfort. The fear of pain.

The fear of being right. The fear of being wrong (see Seth Godin’s blog post today on this).

The fear of death. The fear of life.

    We are hardwired for ‘fear’.

That’s why whenever an angel of the Lord showed up, usually the first thing out of their mouth was , “don’t be afraid”.

If one showed up in front of me it would probably scare the bejabbers out of me.

    Nice illustration David.

When all is summed up Fear and its love child Anger, lurking as out of control survival devices in our Lower Unconscious control the human psyche. Both can thrive and operate subliminally within our religious observance, eventually manifesting as verbal or physical violence.

Only Divine Love, through Spirit Breath can open the padlock and let our Life Energy flow into a hungry, broken world.

Thank you David. Your illustration and your words are timely and resonate loud and clear. I’m having one of those non-stop, blown-out-of-proportion, woe-is-me conversations with myself this weekend. It happens once in awhile and it all boils down to fear. Also appreciate the previous comments.

Or just fear. It hits home.

Courage is the other side of the coin of faith.

    Absolutely true.
