companionship in the storms

sea gulls in rain watercolor painting by nakedpastor david hayward

The rain does fall. The wind does blow. But at least we’re together. And somehow this makes it not only easier, because it turns it into something that brings joy and makes me stronger. Even wiser.

I’m glad you’re with me. I know I could do it alone. I’ve done it before. I’ll do it again. But you’re with me now, and your presence brings me peace.

We have no idea how long this storm will last. But we’ve got wings and we’ll use it in our favor.

Purchase the original painting (it’s large!), or get a print.

    hi david,
it is nice to see your contemplative soul emerge in your art.

Was at the Atlantic Airshow yesterday. While leaving one of the gatekeepers asked me as I was leaving, “what was your favorite part of the day?” I responded, “the glider, just the wind, and the wings.”

Of all the aircraft displays including the Snow Birds, it was the glider catching the currents of the wind that held my attention most. This sketch reminds me of that feeling yesterday. Thanks David.
