Evangelicals don’t believe in the existence of limbo. Depending on their more or less calvinist bend the person in the middle would say that the belief is that people are predestined to either heaven or hell and that there’s nothing he can do about it other than letting people know that they’re in big trouble. Leave the limbo to pre-Vatican II Catholics.
I no longer believe in the simplistic view of Heaven and Hell. Too many contradictions; we talk about how wonderful it will be to go with Jesus, but keep brain dead people or put old people through medical procedure after medial procedure to keep them “alive.” We tell people who are suffering to wait b/c their “Reward will be great in Heaven.” I also think that is why many Evangelicals feel they can treat non-Evangelicals badly and refuse to create Heaven here on earth. They don’t want to share it with those who are not “grateful for the gift of Jesus” and that is why they are ok with defunding assistance programs and destroying the govt.
“Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.” We can create Heaven here and now and by sharing Heaven with everyone, we share Jesus…ok getting off my soap box lol.
