Religion Prof: The Blog of James F. McGrath
The Blog of Dr. James F. McGrath, Clarence L. Goodwin Chair in New Testament Language and Literature at Butler University, Indianapolis
I unfortunately didn’t find the time to chime in myself, but Patheos hosted a multi-blog conversation on the future of seminary education, and I wanted to at least link to it and share it with you.
If you have any thoughts about the subject, feel free to leave a comment, whether here or on one of the participating blogs!
Also, don’t miss that Ken Schenck also shared thoughts on seminary education, and that Marc Cortez shared some bullet points on what it means if someone teaches theology.
I myself have wrestled with attending seminar or not. I see positives for both, however in this day and age much of what is taught at seminary I can get elsewhere and as needed.
To me it seems more of a formality rather than Necessity now.
Do you have links to the folks above? There writings on the subject?
I embedded the links in the text, but here is the main one for your convenience: http://www.patheos.com/Topics/Future-of-Seminary-Education.html
