Jeremiah 22:14-17

Who says, ‘I will build myself a spacious house
with large upper rooms,’
and who cuts out windows for it,
panelling it with cedar,
and painting it with vermilion.
Are you a king
because you compete in cedar?
Did not your father eat and drink
and do justice and righteousness?
Then it was well with him.
He judged the cause of the poor and needy;

then it was well.
Is not this to know me?
says the Lord.
But your eyes and heart
are only on your dishonest gain,
for shedding innocent blood,
and for practising oppression and violence.

"I would be interested, depending on day of week and all."

Does every post have to be about the presidential election???

LOL, I was JUST about to post, “Did Jeremiah know Romney or something?!”

There’s precious little that I like about Ted Haggard, but this really impresses me. Because his scandal involved gay sex, he’s in a particularly vulnerable position as far as his “tribe” (evangelicals of the more conservative stripe) is concerned, so speaking out in favor of marriage rights is gutsier for him than it would be for most evangelicals.

I’d like to believe that, honestly I do.

But knowing what we know of the right-wing from just the past 2 days alone, I remain skeptical and unconvinced.
