These people don’t have enough to do… March 6, 2005

I cannot imagine having so little going on in my life – or being so incredibly self-absorbed – that an actress’ speech could move me to feel “hurt,” “offended,” or “left out” because she, in describing HER life, didn’t take MY life into consideration.

Sob, sob sob! Oomp, Oomp, Oomp! Mean old Jada Oompitt Smit’ onwy tawked about hew own oomp and she’s not gay!!! Oomp! Oomp! Ohh, boohoooo! I feew so weft out becawse she wasn’t oomping more sensitiwe wanguwage!!! Sob! Sob! Oomp! (shuddery breath) OOMP! We need a wuncheon! We Oomp a meeting because I’m so oomping saaaad!

These people are disgraceful, and not because of their sexuality, but because of their naval-gazing self-absorption and completely screwed up priorities.

I can only imagine that some of this is what comes from a society that has spent two generations teaching children that they are “special, special special,” instead of teaching them to think critically, or to reason, or to look beyond their puny selves! Perhaps this is the product of over-developed self-esteem.

And some of it is just pure ignorance. These people feel this way because they don’t know about people feeling any other way. They should put aside the luncheons, miss a few lectures and maybe go volunteer at a hospice, or a nursing home where old people approach you asking if you are their daughter because it’s been so long since anyone has come to see them, or at a homeless shelter, where people are genuinely cast aside, or at a soup kitchen where you’re feeding little kids who don’t even know what they don’t have.

This is sickening. Harvard is a freaking disgrace, and these pampered, privileged little moonbeams need to be pulled down to earth. I’m so aggravated with this unending neo-nazi conformism that I’d like to take my “extremely heteronormative” size 8 1/2 foot and place it firmly upon a few over-sensitive backsides!

UPDATE: The story has been picked up by the msm. Baldilocks and Ambra Nycola have some CHOICE words for the Crimson Crowd, too. Don’t miss them!
