You consistently find such beautiful stories to link/embed in your column here at First Things.
These stories are exactly the sort that we Christians need continually to set before the eyes of the world. These stories propose a better way of being, a way of love-and-sacrifice without which every other sort of love is transitory and passing, at best. But this love-and-sacrifice way of life is not possible without Christ, and we Christians need always to remind the world of that fact as well. It amounts to saying, “Look! Here’s a better way, a more beautiful way! Let Jesus be your way!”
And we Christians need always to live our lives in such a way that they inspire those around us who pay close attention, and inspire them to give Jesus a try, or to try him again.
Thanks again, Anchoress.
I love it! Bravissimo!
Beautiful and inspiring. I have a lump in my throat!
Excellent. Inspiring, encouraging, convicting. Thanks for posting this!
Wonderful! Just proves again that all life is precious. But also makes me sad – to think of the losses we have suffered as a human race due to lives never lived because of abortion. Anchoress, you never fail to inspire.
Just when sinner vic thinks that there’s not much hope left in humanity, Anchoress you come UP with this story.
People won’t believe “IT” but sinner vic just told me that there will be no more short cuts as far as he’s concerned and the rest of these so called gods will have to line UP and take their chance in “The Book of Life” just like every other “ONE” of God’s Children.
Keep UP the good work and words and God will add to “IT” HIS “L” right between HiS Redemption and Deliverance making “IT” HIS WORLD AGAIN and put away David’s trusted “S” for Swords.
i hear ya! He’s only one of U>S Victor but we need all the help we can get right folks?
It brought tears to my eyes.
Poignant, inspiring, moving. At times, I find myself not giving God enough credit for that which only He is able to do. I think that is said in scripture somewhere. Thank You Anchoress. tr
Gosh…some people just have it all. Beautiful and inspiring!
Thank you for a wonderful story. I have a son who is hearing impaired and can understand the journey of this young man and his parents. It is a journey full of tears and laughter, despair and hope. But it is a journey I would not trade for the world. The emergence of the spirit of the child and the parents is beyond description. It really is a journey of faith.
Wow did I ever need to see that. That young man’s life gave his father the chance to be a saint. I was too amazed to cry, and I cry easily. Totally prolife message.
Well, Anchoress et al., keep us in prayer for safety as we go into our Walk for Life West Coast on the 23rd. Thanks. We hope to save more Patrick Henry Hughes with our peaceful witness.
May God be glorified for giving the world this young man and his family.
He made me smile. What a beautiful creature!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
