US Flag not flying in Haiti Relief Compound?

Other nations are proudly flying their flags as they assist Haiti in recovering from a devastating earthquake.

But the United States is not.

Our nation has conducted relief efforts for decades through our military, saving millions of people from death, disease, and starvation. Like France, Britain, and Croatia, we have flown our flag during those operations not to note occupation but to represent the American people’s solidarity with those suffering from disaster. That historical record is answer itself to the lunatics in Venezuela, Nicaragua, and even France who indulge in paranoid hysteria [of occupation].

Fly the flag, Mr. President. Let our actions speak for themselves, but demonstrate that we aren’t ashamed to arrive anywhere in the world with that flag flying proudly.

Seems to me that a CIC who does not fly the flag where his nation and military are offering aid and comfort is a CIC with issues.

I’ve decided that I’m not all that hot for “womanly leadership”

Even so, I bet Hillary would be flying the flag! (Language warning; you are warned.)

Any sane American would be flying the flag. Which brings me to another question . . . is our president in any way competent to “govern”? He’s still in campaign mode and doesn’t seem willing – or able – to do anything else! He is surrounded by evil people like Emanuel and Axelrod (I fully expect those two to end up behind bars) and Valerie Jarrett. How disheartening. Thank goodness I’ll soon be going home to the kitties! THEY make sense. God’s gift of grace to me, I’m convinced. They make me smile, they lighten my heart, they give me love and affection and give me and outlet to demonstrate love and affection toward them.

Blegging you and your readers for prayers for Tom Stone, who has a bad infection in his leg. He has already had surgical treatment and antibiotic treatment but so far it has not cleared.

He’s in some danger. He also lives alone (on the West Coast), and I am very worried.

Sounds like time to pack up and go. If people need to learn what something is, and means, by its absence, so be it.

A red, hammer and sickle flag would be just fine however.

It grieves me to think that the President of the United States is ashamed of our flag and does not understand what a powerful symbol of hope the Stars and Stripes is to the rest of the world.

By way of illustration I’d like to offer you a quote from a letter my colleagues and I received many years ago, from a woman’s group in the city of Juba in Southern Sudan. At the time of its writing Juba was under siege by a rebel army and starvation haunted the refugee camps in the city:

” We in Southern Sudan had given up all hope of living in this world. But one fine day we saw a plane in the air. We could not believe our ears and eyes. But we saw a miracle. A foreign plane flew in. The women of Equatoria would like to take this opportunity to register a vote of thanks to you for spear-heading relief operations in Southern Sudan. In particular, you the young and courageous American pilots who showed the way by risking your lives to fly here after everybody else deserted us deserve a special note of gratitude from women and children in Juba. Our morale has been boosted and hunger quenched by the mere appearance of a plane in our skies…”

This, to me, is how the rest of the world see Americans. We are the good guys, and don’t let anyone tell you different.

How pathetic. Fly the flag. Have pride in your country, Mr. President. Barrack Obama = a more charasmatic Jimmy Carter.

What do we expect from this administration. They are true to form.

Barry Obama is still waiting to see if he is proud of America. Michelle’s price was the adoration of her husband. I assume Barry will be proud of America only when it looks like his vision of America which is socialist in nature and everyone is out of work.

If the democrats ram this healthcare down our throats, we will pay the price for generations. The democrats should also pay the price forever with the ending of that party of death and socialism.

What on earth is the matter with this man??? He refuses to put his hand over his heart when the National Anthem is played; doesn’t want to fly our flag, tries to destroy this country any way he can. Every day is something more despicable from him. Regardless of where he was born, he is NOT an American in his head or heart. Two and one-half more years. Can we survive? I hope.

You have featured several stories about Haiti, so I want to bring to your attention an article I just read which reports on the rapes of women and children in the camps. Have you heard from any of your missionary contacts about this?

Manny L said: Have pride in your country, Mr. President.

That’s just the problem Manny – he doesn’t. He wants to see a United World of Obama, that’s the only thing that matters to him.

He is unworthy of being president of this country. Ever word he utters dishonors it and the men & women who have fought so valiantly under the flag that Obama refuses to recognize.

It will take more than one generation to repair the damage he will do to this country. Our Founding Fathers are surely spinning like whirling dervishes.

  • Manny L.

I know Kris. It’s just a cry from the desert onto deaf ears. It’s truely ashame. In just one year, I don’t recognize this country that I grew up in.

  • Doc

This should surprise no one. When has Obama ever indicated sincere pride in his country? It has been the opposite. As a man of the Left, he has always been contemptuous of this country. It’s just a shame more voters didn’t see that in November ’08.

Well, he is not an American so why fly an American flag. I don’t care whether or not he was legally born here – his way of thinking, his entire persona is anti-American in all respects. It’s also anti-Christian. Remember on Inauguration Day when he was leaving the pre-inaugural church service and he sailed right on past the pastor who was waiting at the door to shake his hand afterwards? Apparently someone told him how clueless an act that way because he retraced his steps and went back and shook the pastor’s hand briefly and – it seemed to me – grudgingly.

We have a nasty, incompetent, irredeemable socialist in the White House and we have another 2+ years to endure his antics.

  • Kris, in New England

we have another 2+ years to endure his antics.

Well the good news is that it’s unlikely we’ll have to endure more of him beyond that. Particularly if the travesty of healthcare is passed.

Against the wishes of the people – at whom’s pleasure he serves.
