They say that if you put yourself into unfamiliar situations, that this is when creativity is birthed.
As I am in the midst of eating and doing life with $2 a day, I am noticing that new creativity in the kitchen is happening.
On a usual day, I would see eggs, rice, and salsa in the fridge and think: “This is lame. How about a frozen pizza. Or maybe, I will go out to eat. Panda Express? Chipotle? Panera? What shall I choose. We have nothing to eat.”
Now I see those three items and think, time to become creative. And now, this is my new favorite meal! I fry an egg over medium. Then, I take one serving of brown rice and heat it up. The hot egg on top of the rice with some salsa = tantalizing to the taste buds!
My only issue has been that I suck at cracking eggs!!!!! I have only cracked one egg this whole experiment without the yoke breaking. Maybe there is some creative learning I have yet to learn in that area 🙂
How has Lent brought out the creativity in you?
