At Centers for Spiritual Living, we believe that the universe is spiritual and has intelligence, purpose, beauty, and order. Our beliefs are in harmony with all the world’s great spiritual teachings, and we honor all paths to God. Whether we call it God, Spirit, Energy, or Universal Intelligence, we are ever conscious that all people, places, and things emanate from this Divine Mind that is within us and all around us.
We believe that God is a loving intelligence, operating in and through all life, never separate from anyone or anything. Through study and spiritual practice, we come to understand our Oneness with this indwelling Divine Presence. We teach and practice a way of life where we can all learn how to live in accordance with spiritual principles. These principles, which we call Science of Mind®, are as reliable as the laws of physical science. We believe in Cause and Effect. We teach that “it is done unto you as you believe.” In essence, your thinking and your expectations create your reality. By studying and applying spiritual laws, you can change your unconscious belief and create improved conditions in your life.
How do we recognize this indwelling presence? And, more importantly, how do we invoke the spiritual laws to create the life we want? We do these things through spiritual practice. Because we are inseparable from God, we recognize that all the wisdom of the ages resides in our own mind, although sometimes it is stored in our subconscious. Spiritual tools, particularly meditation and affirmative prayer, provide us access to this information.
Meditation allows us to get still and quiet the chatter of our conscious mind so that we can hear our intuitive guidance. At the very least, meditation helps us relax and release worries and stress. At most, meditation is our conduit to divine guidance. Have you ever had a hunch? It may have seemed crazy at the time, but you followed it anyway and had a great success. That is an example of the indwelling God providing you with the information you need.
The next time you’re faced with a challenge, stop. Get still, recognize that there is a power for Good in the universe more powerful than you are, and you can use it. Then put into practice the tools of meditation and affirmative prayer, and watch your life change dramatically.
