Farewell, Google Reader

Google Reader shuts down this weekend, causing much wailing and gnashing of teeth among the technorati. Rachel has switched to Feedly. So have I.

  • One important note: be sure to export your data out of Google Reader and SAVE that XML file. Feedly currently has no export function, so if you move all your feeds over there and then want to try a different service after 1 July, you’ll need your original XML file from Google Reader.

    Digg has just brought out a reader, it’s still in beta, but looks pretty good.
