In the Haitian Vodou and New Orleans Voodoo religion the sacred serpent has been known to reveal itself as the Lwa Simbi. There are many different paths of Simbi, each has it’s own unique power and sacred abode. Ultimately however, their realm is divine magick and they are turned to when truth and a clear path forward are needed.

 Simbi Lwa

  • Simbi Makaya – The Sorceror
  • Simbi La Flambeau – The Simbi born of fire
  • Gran Simbi/Simba – The Great Simbi
  • Simbi Ganga – Warrior Simbi
  • Simbi Dlo – the water Simbi, known by some as “the silence” or “the silencer”
  • Simbi Andezo- Simbi travelling two waters

I could go on described these powerful snakes for awhile, or I can just let you see, hear,  and taste for yourself.

During a Recent Simbi Communication Rite I prepared this recipe to bring about quick and clear communication. It is a mildly spicy dish and would be suitable for Simbi La Flambeau.
