World's Largest Religion Website Hosts Online Interfaith Experiment
Religions Highlight Each Other in "Share What We Share"
DENVER, CO – October 12, 2015 – Patheos, the world's premier destination for dialogue on religion and spirituality, will host an online experiment in interfaith co-existence on October 13 called "Share What We Share."
The purpose of the event is to explore connections and common ground among the 11 worldviews and 450 bloggers on the site. Over the course of the day, each worldview "channel" at Patheos will use its Facebook page to exclusively share posts from bloggers in other worldviews. Evangelical, Pagan, Progressive Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Atheist, Buddhist, Hindu, Mormon, Catholic, and Spirituality blogs are among those taking part in the "Share What we Share". Many individual bloggers will also participate in this first-of-its-kind event.
"Much of our time is spent defining our own traditions, which includes defining differences from other traditions," said Kathleen Mulhern, Executive Editor, Patheos. "This is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the many values we also share."
The event precedes the October 15th opening of the Parliament of World Religions in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Parliament gathering has been called "the largest and the most inclusive gathering of people of all faith and traditions." Patheos CEO Leo Brunnick and a panel of managing editors from Patheos' various faith traditions are presenting at the Parliament.
