Here’s another quick link worth reading (cobbled together before getting onto the road this morning).  Dave Muscato has written a piece that should be mandatory reading for every Christian.   Read more

Recently I wrote an article about gun control, part of which contained the argument about the need for an armed citizenry to create a sense of mutually assured destruction with the government.  That was a bad argument.  The government has tanks and air superiority, not to mention military training.  Having guns in-hand would not make much of a difference. That doesn’t change all the other arguments in that post about why guns should be modified, but not banned.  But I... Read more

I woke up in St. Louis, and am heading all the way home today.  Soon I’ll begin responding to comments again, and blogging all regular and stuff…for about two weeks, before my speaking schedule takes over my life. But those two weeks will be epic.  😛  See you all tomorrow. Read more

We just keep adding more.  This is the fourth post of this type (you can read the first, second, and third). Today’s sadness: I now have to avoid two of my favorite fast food places. Roughly 100 Wendy’s employees in the Omaha, Nebraska area will have their weekly schedules reduced to 28 hours a week so that they will no longer qualify for the health care benefits that “Obamacare” mandates for full-time employees. A Taco Bell in Guthrie, Oklahoma enacted... Read more

Here is a meme from the facebook page attempting to establish a heterosexual awareness month. Oh fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck these people.  Especially fuck them for the image of the straight family, as if they (with two presumably married parents) are the victims of bigotry at the hands of those evil, evil gays.  They seem to think that gays want to tear up that picture, rather than create one of their own with two guys or two gals.  Jesus Christ, the people behind... Read more

So…this happened. If the gun advocates behind this year’s inaugural Gun Appreciation Day had hoped to use the day’s festivities to build support for their anti-regulation platform, they are going to have to wait another year. Emergency personnel had to be called to the scene of the Dixie Gun and Knife Show in Raleigh, North Carolina after a gun accidentally discharged and shot three people at the show’s safety check-in booth just after 1 pm. Both victims were transported to... Read more

Her aversion to being branded an atheist aside, I’m kinda warming up to Kyrsten Sinema. This week, as members of the 113th Congress were sworn in, Representative Kyrsten Sinema (D – Ariz.) drew attention as she placed her hand over a copy of the United States Constitution, instead of the Holy Bible. The last time this change of pace occurred was in 2007 when Keith Ellison (D – Minn.) requested to be sworn in using the Quran. That’s pretty badass. ... Read more
