CNN Interviews Writer: Mean, Inaccurate Gun Arguments from Both Parties Will Pull This Nation Apart February 24, 2018

CNN’s Michael Smerconish interviewed National Review writer David French about the acrid words being spewed from advocates of political parties about guns and the Second amendment.  First, he played a clip from NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch, who spoke at CPAC.  “Many in legacy media love mass shootings. You guys love it,” she said. “Now I’m not saying that you love the tragedy. But I am saying that you love the ratings. Crying white mothers are ratings gold to you and many in the legacy media in the back (of the room).”

Then, Smerconish showed a tweet from Michael Moore which was also full of venom. He wrote, “The NRA is a terrorist organization. The media should speak of the NRA in the same way they do ISIS. Total ISIS-inspired deaths in US = 79. Thanks to the NRA & the politicians they buy, we’ve had 1.2 MILLION American gun deaths since John Lennon was shot dead in NYC #NRAKillsKids.”

Smerconish then went to David French, writer at National Review, who spoke about how both sides of this political debate threaten to tear this nation apart.  He began, “Hey, David, I find each of them that we just showed reprehensible. Your thoughts?”

His response needs to heard, loud and clear, while we still have this nation:

French wrote an article on National Review in which he wrote, “One thing’s for sure: Every single conservative who argues that such rhetoric is merely “fighting fire with fire” or making the enemy play by its own rules is matched by a progressive who argues the same darn thing. If you’re looking for one, you’ll never have trouble finding a reason to demonize your opponents.”
