Praise from an opponent….

Praise from an opponent….

It is nice to find a complement from someone who has sworn to try and fix a vote against me (due he says to nothing personal, just his alliance with one of my opponents in the Blog war) So, is Hugh Hewitt just trying to soften the blow when he describes me in his blog as “Very smart and refreshingly candid about his faith.”

Gee thanks Hugh, I feel better already for the over 100 people you have sent over to the contest specifically with the view for them to vote for one of my opponents without even considering my posts. Nice of you to visit my blog AFTER you decided who you wanted your followers to vote for. But hey, doesn’t it strike you as odd behaviour that people will obey such edicts from blogs. Why should they do what Hugh tells them? What mysterious hypnotic hold does he have over his readers that they will do anything. If Hugh was to tell his readers that he had changed his mind would they all now vote for me instead?

Anyway, the host of the contest assures us the poll will have no bearing on the results.

I just want this contest over soon now so I can get on with normal blogging (unless of course I win, in which case It will continue until I eventually loose, so loosing is the one thing in this contest that is inevitable!!)

IS Blogging itself a popularity contest which most of us are doomed to loose? Or is there more to it than that? I prefer to think the latter for obvious reasons!
