Vessel of Honour replied:
“One can contribute and be a part of a community without going to a church though. At times not being tied down to any one particular church can be a liberating experience. It depends on the person and what God calls them to do though.”
Others spoke of the failures of the church, but I have to say, None of the above will wash.
If you come accross fake money, do you stop using money? NO!
Similarly, the fact that there may be some churches that are heretical, or that some pastors are frauds, liars, abusers, adulterers, pilferers, domineering, or whatever else simply means GET OUT OF THE DODGY CHURCH and FIND ANOTHER!!!!
God is at very essence a community. He is love, and has eternally existed as Father Son and Holy SPirit. The church exists to reflect that glory to the world, you CANNOT reflec the multicoulored wisdom of God on your own.
Put quite simply I would URGE you to find a church or risk entirely shipwrecking your faith if you haven’t already done so.
God does not call us to disobey the bible which tells us to be part of a local church.
