Where are all the Evangelical Democrats?

Our Independent newspaper has a piece on statistics about Bush

It seems like they dont like him much…… One set of statistics that suprised me somewhat are the ones about Evangelicalism in America-

70m Estimated number of Americans who describe themselves as Evangelicals who accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour and who interpret the Bible as the direct word of God.

23m Number of Evangelicals who voted for Bush in 2000.

50m Number of voters in total who voted for Bush in 2000.

46 Percentage of voters who describe themselves as born-again Christians.

5 Number of states that do not use the word “evolution” in public school science courses.

So, if there are 70 million Evangelicals and only 23million of them voted for Bush in the last election, does that make the rest of them Democrat? If so how come we never here anything much from Democrat Evangelicals on blogs? According to these statistics there should be more of them unless the rest just dont vote at all….
