'One church a week' faces closure

BBC NEWS reports on the vanishing parish church in the UK. With 800 UK churches now having 10 or fewer adults in their regular Sunday congregation, many are beginning to close down. I should be disappointed. I should mourn the passing of a “christian” nation. I should want to agitate to keep these churches open. Funily enough I dont. Jesus said he would take the candles out of the lampstands. I feel sometimes we try and keep churches alive that ought to be shut down. God opens churches and also closes them

I want the wave of churchplanting of vibrant bible believing churches to continue. If it means older churches close down, yes its sad, but what is sadder is the fact that so many of these churches have been drained of all vitality and life. Lets switch off the life support system and strengthen the ones that are clearly growing and being true to Gods word.
