DOH! Every now and then a situation comes along which tests you to see if you mean what you say. So, can you imagine my horror when I realised that in all the excitement about being able to drive and hear Mark Dever preach this sunday it dawned on me – I had a prior arrangement. In fact, not just a prior arrangement, but a committment I had made to my wife and family.
Now, of course, you could argue “she will understand, after all its not every day that Mark Dever is in town….” but, I have determined in my heart – God first, Family second, Church third and work a poor fourth. (Incidently, work comes so low on the list as a job is much more liable to come and go than any of the top three!) So, Mark, I am sorry but I wont be able to hear you this Sunday, as I must honour my wife and kids.
Lets hope they record it.
