This morning by Gods grace more than 10% of our sunday congregation gathered at 7am to pray. It has to have been God who put such a desire in so many peoples hearts to leave their beds for prayer- and of course many might have been on their way to work and thus unable to make it.
After beginning with our praise and thanks to God we focused on praying for the UK. What better a way to begin the day than with prayer, what better way to begin our prayer than to pray for our nation & its leaders. It is so important that in our political activism as Christians we remember, we have the leaders God has given us, and he calls us to pray for them. God can direct the heart of the greatest sinner, so if we fail to pray that he will direct our leaders, we shouldnt wonder if our nations are on the decline and bad decisions are made!
1 Tim 1.1-4 ‘First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
