CWR – News reports the death of Selwyn Hughes who is one of a whole generation of Christian leaders whos prominent ministries have lasted longer than I have been alive. That generation of leaders has served their God so well and for so long.
It concerns me somewhat that in my own generation there are few giants of the faith rising up to replace them. Justin Taylor is one that I tip to have massive influence, Josh Harris already has, but I wonder who else from a younger generation will arise with Christian influence on the world stage.
I doubt that many men currently in their 30s will go on to have significant world-shaping ministries that last for as many as four decades in the same way that Selwyn and others in his generation have done. (HT Dotun)
