The day God obeyed man?

Josh 10:14 says “There has been no day like it before or since, when the LORD obeyed the voice of a man, for the LORD fought for Israel.”

The NIV has “listened” instead of “obeyed”. So, bible scholars out there – which is correct? Is it obey or listen in the Hebrew? What are the implications of believing God obeyed a man? Why does the bible say here that this was the only time God obeyed a man? What does this verse mean in the original context, and what does it have to say to us today? Can we really believe that the sun stood still, or should we go with some sunday school material we found recently which said it “seemed to stand still”?

Well, I have asked a lot of questions, and other than affirming my belief that the sun really DID stand still – at least from the viewpoint of those on earth I have few answers. Of course, it must mean that the Earth actually stopped revolving or that time itself stood still since the sun in fact does not move. But for the rest of the questions I am looking to you for your answers! My wife asks the hardest questions sometimes!
