As a child I never dreamed I would visit a re-united Berlin. It was an emotional experience earlier this year, but for some reason I never blogged about it. These few photos capture much of it – the former line of the wall now dominated by new buildings, the things people would do to reach the West, the Jewish memorial, the rebuilt parliament (we flattened more of Berlin than I was ever taught at school) and the spectacular symbol of regal power built by the Biblical Nebuchadnezzar now on display in Berlin’s Pergammon Museum.
