God Doesn't Believe In Atheists

God Doesn't Believe In Atheists March 25, 2009
I love it when modern research “discovers” something the Bible has been telling us for 2,000 years. Dr Justin Barrett was on the BBC’s Today program a while back, but for some reason the report is suddenly very popular at the moment.  Barrett argues that all the evidence points to the idea that children all over the world are born believing in God.  Parents shape that belief, but it is there irrespective of their beleifs.  Of course Christians have known for some time that, while atheists do not believe in God, God does not believe in atheists.  Paul says:

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools.  (Romans 1:19-22)
