I believe strongly that whatever we are committed to doing it is important to disengage with it totally for a period at least once a year. This is especially true for me of blogging. What began as a great hobby has become like a monster in my basement demanding to be fed at regular intervals.
As much as I love blogging, regular breaks from it help me a lot. This next break begins tomorrow and is for two reasons – one to cover my family holiday (though in fact I have already gone and this was set on autopilot) The second is for when I return so that I can focus on editing the proofs of my book. This is the last opportunity for me and those who kindly help me to pick up any mistakes and make any changes. Pray that it goes well since each edit makes the book a little bit better. It is strange to think that my work on writing the book will be over soon. Crossway have been wonderful to work with.
