3 minuites of silence at noon GMT January 5, 2005

The whole of Europe will be observing a three minute silence at noon today (GMT) The rest of the world are welcome to join us!

In the UK busses will pull over to the side of the road, TV broadcasts will stop, and in our office the fire bell will sound the start and the end of the silence.

This is an unprecedented response to a disaster far from our shores but which has touched so many of us. There is probably not a soul in the UK who doesnt know someone who was worried for a while about a loved one. For most of us our loved ones turned out to be OK. For those who didnt and for those without a direct conenction to us we will be silent.

We will remember.

We will determine to change.

We will help both these victims and the rest of the worlds poor.

We will not forget.
