You spoke, they listened! In a comment on this post on my blog, Lig Duncan announced that panel sessions WILL be available. This is GREAT news and is yet another example of the power of the blogosphere. Now, all we need is for them to release the video, and possibly the worship. Please don’t think they are reluctant; it’s just that they need to have an idea of the demand before committing the money needed to do post-production work. So... Read more

Always Reforming: Together for the Gospel says the following: First, I was convicted regarding my fears, inadequacies and sins as a preacher of God’s word. All the men who spoke emphasized that fact that a preacher must fearlessly proclaim God’s word, no matter what the consequences…Second, my appreciation for the redeeming grace of God expressed through the message of the Gospel and proclaimed through the mystery of the act of preaching was deepened…Third, I was affirmed in my belief that... Read more

The Indigent Intern: has a list of books given to the delegates which I presume is accurate – I have been blessed to receive some of these already as free books to review by publishers – the rest do sound interesting and I would be open to review any more if any marketeers are reading! This list of books has every mark of being very carefully chosen and we would do well to consider begging borrowing or buying any of... Read more

Bob Kauflin reglects in Worship Matters on together for the Gospel: “The take away is this: when we concentrate on what really matters in our relationship with God the unity He has given us with Himself and each other through the Gospel – peripheral issues fade into the background. Maybe that’s how it’s always supposed to be “ I think that was exactly what the conference was about, and for a conference that was a fantastic thing. For a local... Read more

links for 2006-04-29 Who Was Saved How? Were the Old Testament saints saved in the same way the New Testament saints are? Lig Duncan thinks Paul would have thought the question should be: “Are the New Testament saints to be saved the same as the Old – that is by grace alone, though faith alone? Postscript Posthaste shares his thoughts about the panel sessions from T4G.  Read this, then dont forget to pop over to my last post on this subject and tell the guys nicely that we want, no change that we NEED these panel sessions and the rest of the conference on DVD!   What they have done is to create a conference within a conference, a way of showing the conferees what they need to be doing by doing it themselves. And... Read more

Truthseeker Reports : “The singing was absolutely breath-taking. When we started singing it felt like the hair on the back of my neck was standing up. Imagine a room a bit larger than a gymnasium packed elbow to elbow with 3,000 men who are joyfully singing the classic hymns of praise at the top of their lungs. It sends chills down my spine just thinking about it. It would have been worth traveling around the world just to hear the... Read more

Over at rhettsmith.com the “kickback” has begun. He really doesn’t like one of the articles in the T4G assertions document, which has been placed online unofficially. He feels that gender distinctions in the ministry role is nothing short of discrimination, and whilst welcoming the strong stand against racial discrimination in the document, argues “as Christians we can not fight against one type of discrimination while affirming another.” Needless to say, I am with the T4G guys! But reading this gave... Read more
