Reuters.com: “BERLIN (Reuters) – A 75-year-old German was so shocked he had accidentally run down his wife he started forward and drove over her again, authorities said Wednesday. Police in the western town of Bad Nauheim said the man compounded his 73-year-old wife’s misery after an onlooker told him he had just run her over while backing out of a parking space. The woman was rushed to hospital and survived.” What was he thinking? I can see Magnus Magnusson “I’ve... Read more

Dadmanly questions whether attempts at multicultrualism rather than integration are partly to blame for the rise in Islamic terrorism: “I have been watching events unfold with our British Allies. Adrian Warnock, posting at his UK Evangelical Blog, summed up what seems to be widespread British reaction…….As many commentators have pointed out, Britain has been as enmeshed in a distorted multicultural ethic as much as any nation in Europe. He is certainly nothing if not gentlemanly (Ed- or should that be gentlepersonally?)... Read more

Today I preached on “love” based on 1 Jn 3:16, 4:7-19, John 13:34-5 and 1 Jn 5:13. My notes are already online, audio is also now available UpdateI just got an email from a reader who believes Love should be defined as “valuing”. I think that he is at least partly right- of course love must include emotions, a mental “valuing” and action that demonstrates that value- I said something similar this morning. Read more
