Listened to a great talk from Phil Johnson today. It covers N.T.Wright, New Perspectives on Paul, Steve Chalke and the atonement in a very helpful way. Phil has excelled himself and if you are looking for a critical review of Wright then look no further than this talk. Carson has also got some good messages on this subject online. Read more

It may surprise my American readers to know that until today I had never even read a copy of your declaration of independence, not a single line of it! So it really was about time I remedied that. I hope you will forgive me a somewhat rambling post which just reflects my personal feelings whilst reading it. It felt kind of like reading a set of divorce papers which paved the way for the “special relationship” that we now share.... Read more

Like David Wayne, I have been aware of Tim Bednar’s Paper for some while, but never read it. I really ought to read it sometime and hereby give my readers permission to nag me to do so! In the meantime David’s reaction as a pastor is interesting. My own view is that the internet can never replace church or the pastoral care of a set of elders who God has raised up to care for me. I said as much... Read more

Unlike most other translations, the TNIV translates this verse as follows-“Students are not above their teacher, nor servants above their master.” Dave prefers this translation as it is more inclusive of women than other translations, but asks what the original Greek says. Wanting to obligue my fellow Brit and bearer of a common surname, I have been waiting for a chance to get my libronix software out to answer his question whilst... Read more

You simply have to download google earth and have fun with a 3D globe that in parts allows you to zoom from space down to a single rooftop! My kids love it. I wish we’d had these when I was a kid. For an example of what is possible click here. Read more

jonnybaker blogs about this in more detail than I will, but suffice it to say that if you want to subscribe to listen to the Jubilee Church sermons all you need do is click this iTunes subscription link and it will automatically download our sermons for you each week. If you have an ipod it can even be set up to sync so that the sermons are uploaded onto it next time you connect. I think this is pretty cool.... Read more
