In a moment that may go down in history, one of the republican movements best hopes for US president in lets say 20-30 years time unmasked two lies in one action. The first lie is that all conservatives do not have compassion. To be quite honest, although I might be seen by some as a hopeless liberal just because I live on this side of the pond, I would probably not have acted in the way Josh did. A thousand... Read more

People should not wonder that ordinary Iraqis are not all rejoicing at the freedom that the Allies have brought them. It has taken 60 years for the aftermath of the second world war to lead to complete reconcilliation on the Western front. This is marked with the presense of the German Chancellor for the first time ever at the D-Day celebrations. ‘For us Germans, the war is finally over’. However on the Eastern front of the war such reconcilliation is... Read more

I know its rather late to talk about The Passion (although the DVD comes out soon!) but, hey, its an important subject! The last couple of sermons I preached have asked the question What was the purpose for the passion-or Why did Jesus Die? It might surprise you to note that thus far in the series I have focussed on the birth of the church as being the reason for the passion. We tend to think too much in an... Read more

I have just revisited ChristWeb and remembered just how much I like it. So, if you check over the sidebar you should see he is now in my top ten list of blogs. You do deserve it mate! Read more

Whilst I can understand the political reasons for linking WW2 with the ‘war on terror’ I am not sure of its wisdom. George Bush must recognise that to compare a war that has become part of our folklaw as the ‘good war’ with one that is currently still underway and is far from universally welcomed is unlikely to win over many waverers. Maybe history will judge this war more kindly than our media does currently, but only time will tell.... Read more

Samuel Hong has taken up my challenge of choosing a personal “Top Ten Bloggers” and amazingly has included me! Its rather nice to be singled out in that way. Meanwhile, I feel bad as whilst Evangelical Outpost cant reduce his favorites down to ten, I had to cheat for two of my top ten and include aggregators. Please dont think that means I hate your blog if I havent chosen it- rather the blogs I have included just really stand... Read more

An old friend of mine who I had lost touch with has just started Biscuits Brown He said he found me by looking for other blogs with a similar intersest to him! Anyway, things have developped for him and imagine my surprise to hear a whole stack (except the first) of new things about him! “I’m a single male in my mid-thirties. I’m with the Territorial Army (for now) and I’m just back from 6 months in Iraq. Before that... Read more

I thought it was about time I brought you my top ten bloggers. They are not listed in any particular order- actually they are I lie- they are listed in order of how recently they were updated. This list will live on my sidebar, will never grow beyond ten and for now I have cheated by including two aggregators! If you can think of a blog that I should have included there (and requests to include your OWN blog in... Read more

University Blog recently asked about this in my comments section, and there may be some confusion from others. The Blogdom of God is really two distinct things that are largely overlapping but not entirely! The first is what is an aggregator. This is a collection of recent posts from member blogs all posted on one page in date order. Not every blog has a rss/xml/atom feed so it tends to be a smaller list, although partly for historical reasons there... Read more
